District Charitable Partnerships
District Charitable Partnerships
Charity and benevolence are central to the principles of Freemasonry. The District Grand Lodge of the Eastern Archipelago (DGLEA) supports initiatives that promote education, opportunity, and community development.
Two key initiatives closely associated with the District are the Masonic Charitable Fund and the Joseph William Yee Eu Foundation. Both organisations share a common goal: to support deserving students and help remove financial barriers to education. Through these efforts, Freemasons contribute to nurturing future generations and strengthening society.
Masonic Charitable Fund
The Masonic Charitable Fund is established as a Singapore Trust and is registered with the Commissioner of Charities, Singapore. The Patron of the Fund is the District Grand Master of the Eastern Archipelago.
The Fund recognises that many families continue to face financial challenges in supporting their children’s education, particularly at the tertiary level. Without assistance, some capable students may be forced to leave the education system prematurely.
To address this, the Fund works with educational institutions to identify deserving students who require financial assistance. It also collaborates with registered charities supporting disadvantaged children and considers individual applications through Masonic referrals.
Through these initiatives, the Fund helps students continue their education and realise their potential for the benefit of society.

Joseph William Yee Eu Foundation
The Joseph William Yee Eu Foundation supports programmes and initiatives that fund the education of underprivileged and deserving students.
Scholarships are generally awarded to students pursuing Technical or Vocational Certificates, Diplomas, and in some cases Degree programmes. These scholarships are typically granted for one year and are subject to annual review by the Board of Trustees.
The Foundation’s mission is to provide scholarships and financial assistance to deserving students regardless of race, creed, religion, or nationality. It also supports research grants and other initiatives that advance education, training, and knowledge.
In addition, the Foundation may support broader charitable initiatives that contribute to the advancement of education and the betterment of society, including programmes benefiting communities in Malaysia and beyond.
