5 Lodges, 5 hopes with one mission
What began as a humble charity drive by four lodges, symbolized by the motto 4 Hopes with a
single, shared mission has gradually grown into a broader, more inclusive initiative that now
encompasses five lodges: SSRL, Kedah Lodge, Neptune, Sri Damai, and RPW. This
expanded collaboration has enabled us to extend our aspirations to five distinct hopes,
specifically dedicated to benefiting the less fortunate children at the Arutjyothi and Guruntha
orphanages in SP Kedah. The aim is to provide ongoing support that touches education, wellbeing,
and daily living, while fostering a sense of community and mentorship for the children
we serve.
Since January 2026, our collective effort has successfully raised RM 19,530 through a
combination of sustained fundraising and in-kind contributions. The proceeds come from a
series of well-coordinated activities across all five lodges, including:
-Collecting and distributing essential goods: clothing, blankets, toiletries, and household
supplies
-Acquiring daily necessities: non-perishable food items, and cleaning supplies
-Supporting education: notebooks, textbooks, school bags, stationery, and learning aids
-Monetary contributions: cash gifts and donations to fund special needs and activities
Deliveries were carried out in multiple planned rounds, organized by our dedicated and
compassionate brethren. Over 30 brethren and partners from the lodges actively participated
in visiting the orphanages, coordinating with caregivers, and ensuring that each delivery was
meaningful and respectful to the children’s needs.
The 9th May 2026 visits were complemented by warm fellowship and community bonding at
Kedah Lodge, where brethren shared meals, stories, and encouragement, reinforcing the spirit
of camaraderie that unites us in service.
To date, the program has fostered a strong sense of continuity and reliability for the
orphanages, and the feedback from caregivers has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting
the tangible impact of consistent support on the children’s learning and daily welfare. The
experience has also inspired many volunteers to expand their involvement, exploring new
ways to contribute whether through additional fundraising campaigns, workshops for the kids,
or partnerships with local organizations to broaden the reach of assistance.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to institutionalizing this initiative as an annual event. Our
goal is to deepen participation, inviting all interested lodges and interested members of the
broader community to join us in planning, fundraising, and hands-on service. By formalizing a
yearly cycle of needs assessment, donation drives, and delivery logistics, we aim to sustain
and scale our impact while preserving the personalized, heartfelt approach that characterizes
our work for these children.
